"360" m.d. sanjay gupta introduces us tonight to the disease detectives, trying to solve medicine's toughest mysteries. that's part one of a week-long series. we begin tonight, though, keeping them honest with christine o'donnell and how she spent money from her last campaign. last week after searching federal campaign filings we learned that the surprise republican nominee for u.s. senator from delaware had checks and expense records that didn't seem to add up. apparently, spending campaign money on personal expenses after the campaign was over, which would be a violation of federal election law. for instance, take a look. this check for $475. ms. o'donnell labeled it as "mileage reimbursement." but it was written three months after her last campaign ended. or this, $600 for her utility bill, paid to delmarva power. again, the campaign was over. tonight, more checks have surfaced, including campaign dollars to pay rent on ms. o'donnell's home, rent going to her campaign lawyer and former boyfriend, who bought the home from her when she could n

to the national media. she did that on a national forum sarah palin recommended she use, fox news. for days now, our reporter gary tuchman has been examining these old checks ms. o'donnell used to pay for what paerd to have been personal expenses. the problem is she appears to have been using old campaign funds even though her campaign was over. if true, it would be a violation of federal election laws. now, ms. o'donnell denies any wrongdoing but has so far refused to answer specific questions about those checks. today at a campaign event reporters and their cameras were allowed in but couldn't ask any questions. o'donnell made clear she isn't happy with the coverage she's getting. >> it's wonderful to be here among so many friends. i'm glad the media is here, but i'm also a little bit disappointed because i wanted to talk candidly, and for some reason everything i'm saying is getting recorded and twisted. so i'm still going to talk openly with you. >> well, i don't speak for the media in general, but on this program we're not trying to twist anyone's words. we're simply trying to get some bas

's limited. use it to connect with local voters whom you'll be serving versus appeasing national media seeking your destruction. there are plenty of liberal media outlets that probably want christine o'donnell to fail, but i want to make it very clear, i'm not one of them. i'm not trying to beat up on christine o'donnell. we also have questions about her opponent, chris coons. these people are running for a seat in the u.s. senate. it's their choice. they should be ready and open to answering questions from all quarters. christine o'donnell wants to serve the people of delaware, not just those who agree with her, and it's our job to help voters make up their own minds. i'm not making a big deal out of 11-year-old witch craft comments or the stuff she said about touching yourself years ago, want to ask her specifics about checks she wrote, serious allegations from former aides and employees, people who ran her campaigns. there's one media outlet sarah palin told her she should use, fox news, and tonight o'donnell broke her silence on sean hannity's program in the last hour. remarkably,
